Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
So, for the last post, I realized I was being a little bit too preachy and that's not what I want this section to be about. I ultimately want this section to be for myself and my personal reflections on how God has worked in my life, but if you feel inspired or motivated by it as well, then to God be the glory. Jeremiah 29:11....I see this verse for my use in the same way I would use Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me). Oh, by the way, these verses that'll be in this section will be ones that I personally select, so yeah. But literally, this verse is so uplifting in the fact that God is literally foretelling our destiny. He works in such a way that we are destined to have this "hope" and a "future". Being His children, we cannot expect less than what God has planned for us. This is why I love this verse so much, because whenever I feel unsure about the future, He reminds me that He has it under control. Our future is already made with prosperity and hope, so why should we worry? He knows what will happen to us today, tomorrow, next week, month, year, 10 years...and in any of those times will there not be harm or hardship. God is a good good God, He doesn't plan hardship on his people, and so we have none to fear. In my church, the congregation always emphasizes this verse whenever they're in a struggle or a hardship. I usually question why people still go through hardships, even if God foretold this hopeful future. After ponderous moments, I think I know why. God never promised harm or tribulations, so your hardships aren't because of Him. But with Jeremiah 29:11, I now know that He wants you to trust in Him and His word. He promised hope, so trust in Him for hope. He promised a future, so trust in Him for a future, despite your struggles. It's all about trust and patience.
