Wow, I'm going to be honest, it was a pretty eventful day of school today. Other than the fact that this bipolar weather gave us 90 degree weather in the first week of October, this day was pretty good. For my Health Tech class, we got a quiz today. Usually, the quizzes given by our "professor" are college level anatomy and physiology, and a lot of people usually flunk the tests. This time though, I vowed not to let that happen this year. My grades for tests in my first two years for that class were subpar, and although I was finishing the class with A's, I wasn't satisfied. We started the Reproductive System as our first lecture, and I don't even care, I started studying from day one. I should've kept this mentality for freshman and sophomore year, but this year, I have more personal ambitions. Anyways, we got our first quiz, and this is probably the first time I felt great about a quiz in Health Tech. Other than that, it was Team Building day for our class. We had to group up and make a dance choreography and perform. As non-medical related as that sounds, she explained that in the healthcare field, we have to be leaders in our fields. A ton of leadership was required for this, especially for me and my friend. We were paired with a group of freshmen, people we don't even know that well. This led to the teacher explaining that in the medical field, we're going to have work and deal with unknown circumstances, as such, we have to be leaders and mature in the problems. We eventually were successful with it, and not going to lie, it was fun. The day went on smoothly after that, and as hot as it was, on my way back home, I received great news.

So for my college resume and extracurriculars, I want to built it around the basis of my interest in science and medicine. I'm kind of hoping that my dedicated interests will propel me into the top universities. So I plan to volunteer at the Liberty Science Center, volunteer at JFK hospital, volunteer at the Hospital of Special Surgery (which is the hospital I eventually want to work at), and participate in an exclusive summer science program. Along with this, I plan to take college classes around the basis of pre med, such as Intro to Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, including Advanced Calculus and Analytical Geometry. I also plan to enroll in medical competitions regarding "Medical Terminology" and "Pathophysiology". If all that goes to plan, with my desire standardized test scores, I'll be golden. First on my list is volunteering at the Liberty Science Center, and for some reason, you have to get accepted as a volunteer. But, today, I was excited to receive an interview! I thank God for that, because that's part 1 of my plan done so early in the year which I'm grateful for. Anyways, that's day 4 of these posts, and I like the feedback I'm getting. Hopefully someone's avidly reading this lol.

These are my friends at church I was talking about in the other post, heart goes out to them for real!
