It has been a cool seven months since my last daily blog post. With the whole pandemic happening and all the other crazy things that are happening in the world today, I was just really confused on things and I had to constantly stay on top of things. My plans were changed once again, but that's okay. Anyways, when the pandemic happened (still happening), my school went virtual. That actually made it really easy to time manage A LOT of things, and I was able to get many assignments/projects done quicker, and was able to focus on things that I held off for later, earlier. As soon as my teachers stopped giving us assignments, I was able to practice and prepare for the SAT as soon as possible again. I registered for a September test date, so I'm claiming that it'll be smooth sailing, and that it won't be a worry of mine when the scores are released. My relaxed attitude on that comes from the fact that most colleges went test-optional, but it's still good to stay on top of other applicants with a high score. In addition, I feel super confident, plus I know that I'll leave it up to God after I have put in all the possible hard work I could've.

During quarantine however, I've been trying to stay productive. And I don't know why, but being lazy makes me bored. It's like I know what I'm going to be doing if I'm not going to be doing anything productive. I want a little flavor and challenge in my lifestyle, so I'm trying to do past my usual, and constantly be productive. Since my senior year is coming up, and so is application season, I wanted to spice up my resume even more. My goal of making it centered around my intended major: Molecular Bio/Bio, is really piecing together. I have two activities that if I get accepted two, will be MAJOR spikes in my application. The first is for the Columbia University's Science Honors Program, a competitive program that puts students into college level science classes at Columbia. I just took an entrance exam a couple days ago for it, so we'll see how it goes. It's something I actually want to do, so I have faith for all the best. The second is the Governor's STEM Scholars Program, a program that has students immerse into the STEM field completely with various symposiums and research projects available throughout the year. Other than that however, I recently have been exposed to a field of medicine that seems opposite of what I would like to be in the future:

Hair Transplant.

In the past week, I have taken a glimpse into the medical field that has another purpose other than to make people feel better: to look better. These particular experiences jump started my interest in medicine, and made me envision what I could be doing. Last year, I shadowed physicians who  performed these hair transplants, but this year, I had the amazing opportunity of actually being a part of the process. I'm going to be straightforward however, hair transplant specifically, is something I really don't see doing in the future in the medical field. But what really leaves a mark on me about this field, is the joy people feel and have when they know what it is like to look and feel good again. Natural processes may have taken away their youth and looks, but creative and unique ways of utilizing medicine rebirths their young prestige again. It really is amazing how medicine can be used in so many ways, that the only thing really stopping its potential, is the creativity of the user. Medicine's utilizations are really unparalleled, as it can really do anything from making people feel better, or look better.
